TOPIC : Dispatchable Generation – How HRCo’s, DSCR’s & LOLE’s Impact the Texas Energy Market
Jeff Schroeter is a Principle and Managing Director with Genova Power and has been with the Company for nearly 20 years. Genova Power is an asset holding company focusing on the development of large generating facilities, providing complete management services necessary to take a power generation project from concept to commercial operation. Jeff has forty-two years experience in the electric industry with concentration in power generation, transmission and project finance. Much of his early career was spent as an engineer and planning manager for large utilities where he broaden his industry knowledge and experience through involvement in asset development. For the past twenty years much of his career has focused on independent power project plant development including siting, permitting, financing and construction. Jeff has developed over 9500 MW of generation in the ERCOT, WECC, SPP, MSIO and FRCC ISO’s which are operating today. Jeff has a B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University.
Jeff will present the current state of the ERCOT Market for the development of dispatchable generation. He will discuss why only selective projects are reaching construction and operation. The economics of peaking power are challenged by many factors such as ERCOT’s market design, weather variability, and state of renewable economic incentives and ESG considerations. This is a fascinating interplay of many factors which has created some real world system reliability implications for the growing Texas Energy Market.
The meeting will be held at our normal meeting location, Corrientes 348 Argentinian Steakhouse. 1807 Ross Avenue, Dallas. The time for the meeting will be 11:30 to 1.
